.L.O.V.E.

It's been a while.
But...

I love this.

Watch it.

On a completely other note. I'm trying to win a Polaroid Camera off e-bay as something special for a friend's 21st. I also want for my 21st a Diana camera. I'm all for cameras this year. I used my Dad's old Canon film camera when I was in Paris, I used a black and white film. Hopefully, because it's old it will create some nice grainy images. Still haven't developed the film yet, but now I'm home I'll get that done soon as.

It's weird being back home for the summer. I've got so used to being able to just knock on Nutter's door next door, and sit in her room and watch Friends. That now I'm home it's pretty lonely. Plus my best friends' have all got men now, it feels like we're all growing up and separating a little bit. It's strange. And a bit sad. Everyone's growing up and I feel like I should too... but where's the fun in that?

Anybody else excited for Toy Story 3?

om nom nom nom

Okay what is with Pizza Express?
I have noticed that every time I go there and order a pizza, I get a pizza with a side of burnt. Why is the bottom always without fail burnt? Which just makes the whole pizza taste like charcoal?!
I must remember this before I order the pizza rather than after I've put the first bite in my mouth.

I went home this weekend, saw my best friend and my sister and my bunny wabbit and it was lovely.
It's weird being back at uni, but also being back at uni and having to pack up all my stuff!!! It's so weird!
Also for the past month I've been living with an unsure deadline as to when I will be moving out, until today. You see I applied for this job, which I never really thought I'd get anything I just applied because I wanted to see if I could, and I got through all the interview stages and stuff, but then I didn't get the job. I found out today. So you see with this undecided job offer over my head I wasn't sure when it would be that I would be leaving, so it felt like ages away. Now I know I am leaving in a weeks time. And it's actually sad.

On to another topic....
In the last project I did, which I will admit I didn't put my best into it, I never do and I wish I did every time, I made two toiles for two garments, Through this I remembered how much I LOVE making things. For the past year we've just been designing and it's been interesting, but putting my own garments together now that was fun. I was blissfully happy sat at my sewing machine chugging away with the fabric slipping through my hands. It has made me decide that I will actually make something this summer. Oh yes. I will.

And my first effort will be....

Dun dun duhhhhhhhh....

A dress Anne Hathaway wore in the film Bride Wars.
Okay so I know it's not much, but I really like it and I want to make it for myself rather than just going on some long massive fruitless hunt for one exactly like it.
I'm pretty excited to start it and I've already been thinking of ways it will be put together and what I'll have to do to the basic pattern of the dress to alter it to be like this.
So fingers crossed it turns out well.

Next I want one of these T-shirts from American Apparel:

In a large size, so that I can add an elastic into the waistband to make it elasticated the waist. Or just take it in at the sides to make it more fitted and flare back out to the bottom. I haven't decided which colour pattern is best yet and which way to alter it would work best. This idea needs a bit more thinking.

Last note:
Check out Unicorn Kid's new song Dream Catcher, it is amazing! Also if you're on youtube check out his Rob da Bank session of his song Temples. It is epic. I am in love with it!

Fendi F/W 2010

The ad campaign for this collection is absolutely beautiful.
I've been for the past couple of months having a bit of a girl crush on Jessica Stam. But only recently have I actually been able to have a little search around for her modelling work, what with my massive work load (which I should be doing right now but I am far too worn out).
She's just unbelievably pretty.
I would looooove to be her.

I love the reflection in the glasses in this image. Such a contrast to the smoke and grey around her. Reminds me of Versailles (the reflection I mean).

This dress strangely reminds of one of the dresses from Alexander McQueen's Fall/Winter 2010 collection, this is probably because all I have on the brain is Alexander McQueen as of the past three weeks.

Also just to add to the beauty of these shoots, is that it is by the amazing Karl Lagerfeld.
Nom nom nom.

On a completely other note what is up with facebook these days?
Totally acting up all the time. Saying people are offline when they are not. Telling me I have a notification about a thousand times for something I haven't got!
Gah!
Sort yourself out!

Anyway bed time for the tired.

A Fashiony Post! (kind of)

I feel like I haven't posted in a very long time. Well posted much productively. I've been stupidly busy since before easter? Has it been that long? Gosh it has!
I recently did dressing for the third years fashion show. It was so hectic! It stressed me out for about two weeks! Panicking about not dressing some of the outfits correctly, and remembering what went with what, and not messing up the orders, or even the outfits themselves! No one really realises the pressures that the dressers go under, I mean the designers give us these massively confusing outfits to put on a model in under 3 minutes with shoes/tights/socks/jewellery/buckles, etc. to put on as well! And it's not just the confusing outfits it's also trying not to rip/break them when madly trying to get them off the model to put the next outfit on. I had the massive stress on top of this of my model being a size 5 and a half shoes, when her details had specified she was a size eight, which meant in the fitting/organising days I'd got her all size eight shoes. Massive drama there trying to swap around shoes!
But other than the massive dramas, it was a really good day. It was so interesting to see what the designers had done, and not only that but to feel the fabrics and to see the way things are made. That is a problem with catwalks and museums. You can't touch the fabrics, and you can't play around with the way it's been made. I often sit looking at catwalk collections and think how is that even made!!! I'd love to know! I should learn these things on a Fashion Design course, but so far, I've only learnt the basics, and the rest I make up in my head!
I'm really happy for the eighteen students from my uni who got on to Graduate Fashion Week. They all really deserved it. And for those who didn't get on, it really is such a shame. Everyone put a lot of effort into their designs and the final presentation, it was amazing. And it really gave me an insight on to what worked, and what didn't worked, and what to do and what not to do for my final collection.
I want to do dressing for Graduate Fashion Week to support the third years in their final leg of the journey, but at the minute I'm really unsure as I have an interview for a job which may be starting in June, and I probably won't even get the job. But I can wait and see! I hope I do. It would be sooo good!

Anyway a few images of my days at the Fahion Show:

These are images of some amazing shoes designed by one the lecturers at my uni Marcus Wilmont.

These are images of the models practising how to walk around the runway.

And on another note, I am completely, head over heels, in love with these Kurt Geigers:
They are everything I could ever want in a shoe! Skyscraper heel, shiny bits, quilting, velvety softness (even though velvet usually makes me spazz out), oooffff I just love them!

Well that shall be all as I must get some sort of sleep for tomorrow!

Young Guns

Yesterday I went to see Young Guns play in Camden with my most beautiful friend Benji. It was the most awesomest day!
We arrived early in Camden and so spent a couple of hours wandering round, and bumped into Young Guns, which ended in us stalking them to Wagamamas. Wish we actually had the guts to talk to talk to them though!

Here are a few photos from last night:

Gustav Wood is one of the most beautiful men alive. His eyes are to die for.

I also really liked the guitartist from Save Your Breath's style:

From his ripped jeans down to his Reebok high tops. Yum.
Also love Gustav's Converse in the previous photo.

Goodnight folks!
More later when I'm less tired.
