Hello 2011!

It’s a new year, which means new trends, new fashion 'faux-pas', new designers, new everythinggg! But to start a new year we need to look back to the past year to see how great it was. We should never forget what we have experienced! So lets take a quick look into 2010’s fashion experiences…

We lost Alexander Lee McQueen (1969 – 2010) in February. True tragedy. He brought us armadillo shoes, dead bird dresses, skull scarves, amazing reptile digital prints and so much more.

We craved the Miu Miu prints on EVERYTHING in January/February. Zara and ASOS brought out cat print dresses/playsuits in celebration of the craze!

And then we loved everything twisted and draped thanks to Christopher Bailey at Burberry Prorsum. Which led us on to wanting everything Emma Watson wore…

From Burberry Prorsum to Christopher Kane to Rafael Lopez, we loved them all this year! What’s to come next year?

With Risto Bimbiloski and Peter Pilotto and Christopher Kane doing nebula prints, we all fell in love with the galaxy this year. I know I went a bit crazy for them…

Chanel’s Spring/Summer made us want clogs for every outfit and Chanel tattoos…

March – When Lady Gaga had to be helped out of her outfit on a plane due to threats of DVT.
Fashion has its price!

And in May Sex and the City 2 came out. Definite fashion influence there!

And Gossip Girl came back to steal our hearts and fill our tv with plots and girly tiffs…

And in November we all ran to H&M for Lanvin’s collaboration, which near where I live sold out by lunchtime. I think Alber Elbaz did quite a good job, don’t you think?

In December at the British Fashion Awards Alexa Chung won Best Dressed, Phoebe Philo for Celine won Designer of the Year. And many other awards were handed out to people like Christopher Bailey, Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood.

And so what will come in 2011?
We’ve had a good 2010.
Let’s just wait and see!

I love Raf Simons

I can't describe how much of a genius he is. His beautiful Fall 2010 collection, the amazingly cut and put together suits. His impeccable tailoring. I just swooned! I'd quite like to marry his collections, they are beauty in my eyes.

I first stumbled across Raf Simons when I saw the photography for his collection in 2009 with Fred Perry. I instantly fell in love with the advertisements.

It was so eerily cool, it just attracted me to look more into it. And I've been interested in his work since.

Spring/Summer 2010

Delicious. I'm feeling a bit of the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2010 womenswear vibe pushed on to men and I'm liking it. I have a thing about brown belts... Also reminding me of the Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2002. Yummmmmmmmm!

Fall/Winter 2010

Sexy sexy cut suits. It's the bright colour pops in comparison to the sombre overall suit colour which gets me. And the general inventive tailoring.

Spring/Summer 2011

Again the splashes of colour on everyday suits, the tailoring. Men in shorts that look like kilts/skorts and cycling shorts!
And check out in the first image the back of the suit behind! Oh to see a man in one of these suits on the streets... I think I might chase after him and stroke him... sorry...

Raf Simons - one to watch!

"if she's not coming home for easter she's not getting the bunny for easter either!"

That's a great looking car you got there...
This car has been outside my uni for like weeks. Every day we walk passed it it's even more trashed.
It started with smashed windows and stolen number plates. Then more smashed windows, burst tyres and bashed up wing mirrors. And then its been set fire to, all the interiors melted. This could have been very dangerous, I mean what if there was still petrol in it it would have blown up and set fire to all the trees around it! Very dangerous indeed.

So yeah the place where my uni is - not so safe.

On to more interesting things. It's easter and I'm home!!
It was a long horrible journey home, but I spent the time playing The Sims on the train. This probably amused the man stood behind me but whatever. I'm sure it made his journey all the more interesting too.
This game is so addictive. Just can't get over it.
Although I do find the choice of things to do, items of clothing and furniture rather lacking, but it's nice to have the choice to change it all yourself and add patterns and things to it. But I just miss the freedom and choice of Sims 2.
But it's still as addictive as ever. Reason why I haven't started my essay for uni yet.

What's my favourite thing about easter?
The thought that it's going get warmer which means I don't have to wear coats anymore, I can wear my blazer without a cardigan underneath, I can wear a cardigan on it's own, the summer dresses can come out without looking underdressed for the weather, the ballet pumps can be worn instead of ugg boots, and I can wear my white cardigan again.

My easter wardrobe if I could afford it:
Viktor and Rolf Resort 2010
Outfits I would love to wear to a nice dinner with the girls.
Ohhh wish...

Burberry Prorsum Spring RTW 2010
I think I would live in the outfit on the right. Yum.

House of Holland Fall RTW 2010

Alexander McQueen Resort 2010
I think I love McQueen's Resort collection a bit too much. I want nearly all the pieces in the collection. I just love the sketchy, artists feel to it.

This has gone on quite long now, so I think I'll end it.

Have a nice easter!

sorting things out.

So it's on the up from now on hopefully!
My thinkings done and I realised I needed it.

On another note. Burberry.
I looooveeeeee Burberry Prorsum. Christopher Bailey is a genius!
Looking at the catwalk clothes they just look so much better on Emma Watson.
They don't look so great on size zero girls, they suit girls with normal body weight and curves.

I mean they just look so much better. It looks like Christopher Bailey has designed them for curvier models, they fill them out better and don't make the shape look like it's hanging off a stick.

Hanging off stick.
That's attractive...
As you can tell I'm completely against the whole starving yourself idea.
I mean I have so many friends who just literally have problems with eating. I'm not going to name names, because that's just harsh. But I mean they're all perfectly skinny, with perfect bodies, I'd kill for. And yet they strive to be skinnier.
And a few of them just go on about eating for like an eternity. They just go on about how fat they are and how they can't eat that and can't eat this, and constantly read the calories off the food I'm eating to me. Yeah thanks as if I didn't already know or care particularly. That's the worst part, when they read the calories of what I'm eating to me and look at me as if to think "you shouldn't be eating that" - you can just tell in the look. Thank you for thinking that "friend".
Anyway. Rant over.

Basically starving yourself isn't cool.
I'll probably get shouted at for this.

On to my next point of interest. I heard from a friend who went for a job at Debenhams and she heard that H! is heading out hopefully March time.
*fingers crossed*

I want a baby chinchilla!
Don't just say they look like drowned rats. They are super super cute!
My sister used to want a chinchilla when we were younger and I never really saw the attraction because I was small then. And our mum always said no. But now I'm older I understand her want for one. We have plans to get one for my sisters house haha!
My flatmate and I were watching baby chinchilla videos on youtube last night, way to entertain ourselves I know. But they are sooooo sweet! &Baby hedgehogs.
We were also discussing getting hamsters next year. One each. I want a little ginger one :)
Not sure what I'd call it. I'm tempted by a silly celebrity name because I think that would be quite amusing. Since it's ginger I'd either call it Rupert Grint for a boy or Debra Messing for a girl. Ha :)
